Stress resources available on-line from First and best in Education Ltd According to the TES in March 2006, doctors are writing anxious teachers prescriptions for self-help books. The Teacher support network suggests that 17000 teachers seek help and guidance for stress every year and now runs Teacher Support Online which can offer email support But what is interesting is that the TES omits the key point that employers have a duty under health and safety directives to provide a healthy environment in which to work. An environment in which a number of people suffer stress because of the nature of the work is not a healthy environment and therefore leaves the schools open to legal challenges.
